You can count on Charlize Theron to speak out on all the big issues facing society today: women’s rights, gay marriage and now… the Hills.
The Hancock star just told MTV that she’s tried her best to get into the runaway smash hit reality series, but she just can’t make herself care about the ongoing sagas of Speidi, Lauren and Audrina.
In fact, it seems that she really couldn’t care less about their lives.
“I watched a couple episodes,” she told MTV.com. ” I was doing a world tour at the time, so I watched them in a couple languages.
“I realized that this f***ing show is huge. Now I’m going to ask you a question: Why?
Remember earlier this season, when Spencer told his sis, Stephanie, that he and Lauren were about as likely to get along as Israel and Iran? Well, looks like there might be peace in the Middle East — at least according to Heidi. Because according to Usmagazine.com, Spencer’s better half is kinda, sorta, maybe hinting at a reconciliation! Yep, in a recent TV interview, Heidi told reporters that watching last week’s Hills made her realize how much she still misses her former roomie. Plus, she was pleasantly surprised to hear Lauren admit that she’s suffering from BFF withdrawal, too. “I was glad to hear it… I thought it was really sweet,” Montag admitted to Extra. “That really brought a big smile to my face… Obviously I miss her, and she was my best friend for a really long time,” she added. “Hopefully one day we will be able to work through this and move on and patch some things up.”
+ What do you guys think? Are the girls serious about putting the past behind them? Or are they just getting nostalgic about the way things were? Let us know whether you think Heidi and Lauren have a real chance at reconciliation — that is, assuming Spencer doesn’t get in the way…
It seemed like Audrina Patridge was just patching things up with her roomies, and now she’s moving out. Last week Patridge finally said goodbye to living with her Hills roommates, Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth.
So what drove her out of the house? I just wanted my own place,” she tells Maxim magazine. “If anything, I feel like it will help out all our friendships.”
It’s no secret that Patridge, 23, and Bosworth, 21, don’t exactly get along—so was Lo to blame for the move? “The only reason Lo and I are friends is because of Lauren,” she tells the magazine. “They grew up together and hang out all the time; they’re like the Bobbsey Twins.”
As for LC and her other former roommate/BFF Heidi Montag, Patridge says the hatred between the two is the real deal. “They really don’t like each other, but I’m friends with both of them,” she said. “When we hang out, I don’t talk about the other. I’m like Switzerland.”
Montag, 22, is one person who has lived in Patridge’s shoes. “It’s time in Audrina’s life to move out,” Montag recently told PEOPLE during her birthday celebration Saturday night at Christian Audigier Nightclub in Las Vegas. “I’m very excited for her and I think she’ll do great.”
And if Patridge ever needs advice on how to cope post-Conrad, she can always call Montag. “I love Audrina,” Montag said. “We were friends before her and Lauren were friends. We still talk.”
Lauren Conrad’s controversial ex, Jason Wahler—of Laguna Beach and mugshot fame—says he’s close to signing on as a castmember of The Hills next season.
But while a stormy reunion with L.C. is inevitable, it probably won’t be of the romantic variety—Jason’s fiancée, Katja Decker-Sadowski, is also in talks to appear.
Besides, the guy’s got a more important encounter in mind—he wants to challenge Spencer Pratt to a fight. Sounds like solid TV gold to us.
The Hills’ star Lauren “Lo” Bosworth has called it quits with her fellow UCLA beau Christian Wenger, a report from In Touch claims. The magazine cites and insider source for the information that Bosworth is single and she got a little therapy help for the split from Hill’s pal Lauren Conrad.
“Lo decided that they’re not right for each other,” an insider tells In Touch. “She is so busy and hadn’t been able to see him that much.” The 21-year-old wasted no time getting back into the singles scene, according to the magazine.
She and best pal Lauren Conrad, 22, hit up Hollywood hotspot Crown Bar on August 27. “She was drinking her troubles away,” an onlooker reveals. “They wanted to have a girls’ night out and get Lo’s mind off of the breakup.” Lo and Christian started dating in June, the report out this week claims.
“They are going to try to stay friends since they started off that way,” the insider says.
As if Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag didn’t have enough to fight about, now The Hills’ leading ladies are arguing over money, reports In Touch Weekly.
It’s shocking, but MTV actually shells out a lot of cash to follow around the rich, Californian, twenty-something cast of the hit “reality” show.
Conrad makes a reported $75, 000 US per episode for bringing the drama and the constant stream of mascara-covered tears rolling down her face each week. But Conrad’s high salary, which greatly exceeds the rest of the cast, is making some waves with the rest of the group.
“The only reason LC gets paid more than anyone else is because she demanded in her original contract that no one could ever get paid more than her,” said an insider.
Montag and boyfriend Spencer Pratt both earn a reported $65, 000 an episode, while cast mates Audrina Patridge takes home $35, 000 an episode, and Whitney Pope makes $20,000 for each show she appears in.
Lesser characters like Lauren “Lo” Bosworth and Brody Jenner make $10,000 an episode, while relative Hillian newcomer Stephanie Pratt makes $8,000 an episode, according to In Touch.
