The Hils: Lauren and Heidi’s (Not So Much Of A) Reconciliation
Posted by Melanie in Review, The Hills

It’s a moment that fans of The Hills have been waiting for: Lauren and Heidi, not only in the same place, but talking and hugging.  Before I get all sentimental though, I have a question.  The two met up at one of Heidi’s events, supposedly coincidentally.  Doesn’t Lauren, who frequents many Hollywood hot spots, know when Bolthouse (Heidi’s employer) is hosting an event?  Still, most likely fully knowing that Heidi would be there, Lauren and Lo headed out then feigned shock when they saw Heidi, Stephanie, and Holly standing together.  After being encouraged by Stephanie, Heidi decided to head over to talk to Lauren and the two former friends were left face to face without anyone else around (oh, except for an MTV camera crew).

The look on Lauren’s face was pretty priceless as Heidi broke down in tears, saying that things with her mom were extremely tense because she eloped with Spencer.  What could she do?  I have to admit, for a minute there, even I felt bad for Heidi because the only person who doesn’t know that she’s been totally brainwashed by Spencer is Heidi.  She is nothing like the girl that we met in season 1, in fact, she doesn’t even remind us of her.  Heidi is a lot soul in every sense of the word and even Lauren couldn’t help but feel compassion for her.  The two hugged as Lauren said that if Heidi really ever needed anything, she’d be there.  Other than that though, there was really nothing the two could ever do to repair what has been so badly broken.  Things will continue the way they have been - with two girls, who were once best friends, never speaking.

The tears kept on comin’ for Heidi last night as Spencer put big pressure on her to make her marriage legal at the courthouse.  I thought when you cry on your wedding day, it should be happy tears.  Not so much for Heidi, who always dreamed of the fairy tale wedding and instead, was standing in front of a judge and a police officer as she said her vows.  Spencer did what seemed to be the right thing: stop the ceremony and promise Heidi the wedding she always wanted.  I’m a cynic, though.  They already sold their story to US Weekly for their “fake marriage”.  You know their real one will air on MTV or be back on the front cover of gossip mags.  Spencer, at the least, is just lookin’ for a paycheck.  Too bad Heidi is too stupid to realize… or is she?

Spencer Says He And Heidi ‘Need A Kid ASAP’
Posted by Melanie in Recent News, The Hills

‘The Hills’ stars talked baby plans on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Monday morning.

First comes love, then comes marriage … and, for Speidi, next comes the baby carriage. After the couple eloped last month in Mexico, Spencer Pratt repeated that a little Heidi or Spencer is on the agenda.

“We definitely need a kid ASAP,” Spencer said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on Monday, after Seacrest remarked that he heard the pair was trying to become parents. The couple was on the show to promote “The Hills” finale.

Heidi made jokes about the baby rumors that have been swirling around the couple. “About my quadruplets?” she asked when Seacrest said she had to make her big announcement on his show. “Actually, I think they’re quintuplets.”

Watch Lauren and Heidi’s Tearful Reunion
Posted by Melanie in Media, Recent News, The Hills

Second time might be the charm for Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

In the above clip from next week’s season finale of MTV’s The Hills, Heidi’s mom pays a surprise visit to Spencer.

“I can’t let you go and make this wedding legal,” she tells him about their Nov. 20 nuptials in Mexico.

Spencer fuels their longtime feud by ignoring her, and taking Heidi to the courthouse.

Lauren’s Lips are Sealed
Posted by Melanie in Recent News, The Hills

With the whole Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt elopement story making its rounds in the gossip circles, there’s one “Hills” starlet who’s keeping her opinion to herself - Lauren Conrad.

The reality TV starlet-turned-designer recently told press, “No thoughts! I don’t think any good has ever come from me having an opinion on their relationship, so let’s leave it at that!”

As for her feelings on the restored friendship between her and the new Mrs. Pratt, LC said that she’s happy they’re on the road to restoration. “Yeah. That’s all I can say about that!”

The Hills: Are Heidi and Spencer Married or Not?
Posted by Melanie in Review, The Hills

When Heidi’s mom said in a recent interview that Spencer must have drugged her in order to get her to elope in Mexico, she wasn’t that far off.  At a dinner on one random night in Cabo San Lucas, Spencer kept the tequila flowing as he put pressure on Heidi to marry him right then and there.  He told her that he doesn’t want to be in a relationship that isn’t going anywhere anymore and that they’re both only really happy when it’s just them.  Under the influence of alcohol, she is somehow convinced that Spencer only has their best interest at heart.  She must’ve been drunk to say yes, especially since during his speech, Spencer said that he’s happy to keep her from the rest of the world and he’s obsessed with her.  Is that supposed to be romantic?  On tonight’s episode of The Hills, fans thought they would finally get to see this romantic, intimate wedding that US Weekly has been talking about but we were left feeling a little… well… confused.

I have several questions starting with: Where’s the proof of the marriage?  Heidi and Spencer supposedly got married in a church but the video that they played back on Spencer’s camcorder only shows them out front after the ceremony supposedly ended.  How did Heidi get her hands on a white wedding dress on a supposedly spontaneous trip to Mexico where an even more spontaneous decision to get married took place?  Speaking of hands, why was Heid’s ring on her right hand instead of her left?  Why won’t anyone answer these questions?!

On the preview for next week’s episode, we find out that the marriage isn’t legal here in the states.  Yeah, no kidding.  Heidi’s mom is, of course, furious and Spencer is on his absolute worst behavior.  Didn’t he say in Cabo that Heidi made him want to be a nicer person?  That must’ve been the tequila talking.  As of this moment, there is no part of me that believe that this marriage is nothing more than a publicity stunt/storyline.  Of course, I’m buying into it and I could kick myself for it but that’s the magic of Heidi and Spencer.  You can hate them, you can despise them, and you can wish that they’d just fall off the face of the earth but you can’t help but talk about them.  They’re like a bad car wreck and nosy people on the highway.  They don’t want to look.  They just can’t help it.
