Who’s on LC & Audrina’s Mobile Phones?

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

In a day when just about anyone with a mobile phone can choose almost any song or soundclip to use as a ringtone, it’s interesting to hear what actual celebrities opt to download onto their wireless devices, and what it says about that person.

Take for instance the ladies of MTV’s reality juggernaut The Hills. While you’d think pals Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Audrina Patridge would all share similar tastes, according to the website for AT&T’s Ringtone A-List, the songs these young lovelies have selected for their ringtones represent a wide spectrum of popular music.

LC’s list is heavy on the ladies, with Britney Spears (”Piece of Me”), Sara Bareilles (”Love Song”) and Colbie Caillat (”Buddly”) leading the charge. Meanwhile, Whitney appears to like the more masculine sounds of Timbaland (”Apologize”) and Chris Brown (”Kiss Kiss”). And Audrina is surprisingly eclectic in her choices, running the gamut from Linkin Park (”Shadow of the Day”) to Kanye West (”Flashing Lights”) to Maroon 5 “Won’t Go Home with You.”)

Whitney Defends Miley Cyrus

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Miley Cyrus may be too young for The Hills, but she’s got a supporter on the MTV show.

“She was probably just swept up in the moment and didn’t realize what she was getting into,” Whitney Port told PEOPLE at Thursday’s Lupus L.A. Orange Ball in Beverly Hills, of Cyrus’s controversial Vanity Fair photos. “I can understand how she’s a little bit wary about it.”

Port, who has worked in fashion magazines as well as PR, calls iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz “amazing” - but admits the photos may be a little extreme.

“I think for 15-year-olds, to some people, they’re probably a little inappropriate,” Port, 23, says.

Spencer: ‘We Pray for Brody’

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Is it the latest salvo-or peace offering-in the on-going feud between Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner? One thing is certain, Pratt is relying on the power of prayer when it comes to his former pal.

“We pray for Brody,” Spencer said of he and girlfriend Heidi Montag at the LG launch of the “Scarlet” TV series. “Honestly, Brody was such a good friend to me. He hooked Heidi and I up, and I think that everything will work out eventually.”

Pratt and Jenner have been taking shots at one another for so long, they’ve become the reality-TV equivalent of the Hatfields and the McCoys, which only makes Pratt’s latest revelation all the more surprising.

“I wish that Brody and I were still best friends,” Pratt insists, adding, “I pray every day that everything works out between us.”

So could a Spencer/Brody reconciliation be in the works? “Absolutely, 100 percent.” Pratt said. “It’s just going to take time. We’re both very stubborn, in the sense where, he thinks that he’s right, I think that I’m right.”

If forgiveness is in their forseeable future, what about a Lauren/Heidi detente? “No!” laughed Montag. “I really pray for her!”

And what will this article tell us? That poor Spencer doesn’t have any friends!

The Hills girls co-dependent hate makes for their survival

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

“The Hills” reality TV stars appear to have made a Faustian bargain with each other: agree to hate each others guts in silence as each one builds an empire of dilettante fashion wear and continued success in the DListed “paid to show up” celebrity event circuit.

At a recent Rolling Stone magazine shoot, Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag grimaced and bore it as they posed for the magazine.

“We were on good behavior,” Lauren told Access Hollywood of the cover shoot. “I mean there’s definitely bad energy between us, but I’m not angry … We’re civil with each other.”

RS noted that the two kept it quiet between them, despite their known emnity for each other.

“That’s civil for us,” Lauren commented to Access Hollywood. “If we did talk, it wouldn’t be nice words. So that’s the only relationship we’ll be able to have - silence.”

“There’s no point to it,” she said to Access Hollywood. “We just have this weird rivalry. There’s something really high school about it. But instead of writing rude things about each other on the bathroom wall, we do it through tabloids. I don’t always reciprocate - I’m not going to be childish.”

Spencer Pratt fires back at Jason Wahler’s sex tape denial

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Spencer Pratt has fired back at Jason Wahler’s claims that a Lauren Conrad sex tape never existed.

Wahler said Wednesday, “I do not have a sex tape of Lauren Conrad and one does not exist. Spencer Pratt is lying again to get attention.”

To which Pratt responded, “Jason’s statement couldn’t be more transparent. Notice how he uses present tense, ‘I DO not have a sex tape … one DOES not exist.’

“We all know that it existed, that he tried to sell it and is now covering up to make himself look better,” Pratt added.

Yes, this is called News. Isn’t it poor? Thank Heidi and Spencer for going on with it.

Miley brings Lauren and Heidi together?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Everyone always said it would take a miracle to get Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag to agree with each other on anything - and apparently, that miracle’s name is Miley Cyrus!

Extra asked Heidi for her thoughts about the controversy surrounding Miley’s recent racy photos. Heidi’s response was completely supportive of the teen queen, defending Miley’s decision to pose for the pics as that of “a young girl in Hollywood, and she’s just having fun. [She]’s exploring herself.”

Of course, Heidi defending Miley getting sexy isn’t too much of a surprise - but the demure Lauren? Now that’s another story!

Us quotes Lauren: “I found it a bit silly. I thought she looked beautiful in the pictures. I didn’t find it that inappropriate. [Miley has] a lot of pressure on her since she is a role model, but I think she’s doing a good job.”

Jeez - if it weren’t for last night’s episode, we’d think Heidi and Lauren’s statements almost constituted a thaw in their feud! It’s just too bad Disney would nev-errrrrrrrrrrr let Miley appear on The Hills - now that would make for some great TV!
