Audrina’s Got Talent

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Audrina has ditched her talent agency UTA, E! News has learned.

That’s right, her talent agency.

Apparently, the Hills honey thought the agency wasn’t treating her as well as another one of its reality clients: Lauren Conrad.

Hayley Lozitsky from United Talent Agency confirms to E! that UTA is no longer working with Audrina. “We no longer represent Audrina,” Lozitsky tells E! “We still represent everyone else, though. We still represent Whitney, Lauren Conrad and Lo (Bosworth).“

When asked for the reason for Patridge’s departure, Lozitsky declined to comment.

But a source close to the situation tells E! that Audrina thought UTA had “a conflict of interest” in repping both she and Conrad. “Lauren was getting all the big offers, all the endorsements, the appearances,” says a source. “And Audrina thinks she should be just as big of a star.”

Sources at UTA confirmed that the agency officially severed ties with Patridge on Friday.

Patridge’s manager, Gladys Gonzalez at John Carrabino Management, declined to comment.

Don’t look for Kristin Cavallari on ‘The Hills’

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari is done working the small screen, folks. EW.com caught up with the celebrity at the premiere of Keanu Reaves’ next movie, Street Kings, where she had plenty to say about her big-screen plans and nothing to report about the possibility of appearing on The Hills, despite rumors to the contrary. “I have been asked to come back by MTV a million times to be on The Hills or Laguna Beach or to do a different reality show, but I am not interested,” she says. “I am doing what I want to do so I don’t feel pressure to go back. I keep getting jobs. I feel like been there, done that. I did Laguna Beach for two years and had the best time. I feel like I need stuff that challenges me and another reality show won’t do that.”

So what’s Cavallari been up to? She recently starred in a new video for Gavin DeGraw, best known for crooning the One Tree Hill theme song. She also shot a short film that Entourage’s Kevin Connolly directed that… well, we’ll let her describe: “[It's made up of] nine different short films, and the whole thing is called Uncomfortable Moments. My short is called Dry Humping. It is about two high school kids, my boyfriend and I, who are dry humping when his dad comes home and catches us in the act. They are all really funny short, goofy films.”

Cavallari also is set to appear in a beach volleyball movie opposite David Charvet called Green Flash this summer. “That was definitely not a hard job to go to every day. And I am about to go to Canada to shoot a movie. I can’t talk about that yet, though. I’m having a good time!”

Lauren Conrad: “I Don’t Depend On Men”

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

A week after a New York Times critic called Heidi Montag a “feminist hero” and said Lauren Conrad “could learn from Heidi right now,” Conrad has spoken out in her own defense.

“I don’t depend on men,” she told Dramarama, a Canadian entertainment blog. “I have my own career.”

The Times critic said Conrad spends her time “pining for [Brody Jenner], who, she has confessed, never makes her feel good enough.”

“You show me the girl that is not affected when a guy that she likes, likes another girl,” Conrad told Dramarama. “I don’t think it makes me any less of a feminist because my emotions are effected.”

“I think that I’m very independent and I don’t let guys effect my life,” she added. “I think in the past I have, and I’ve learned from it.”

When asked if she could learn anything from Montag (who beat Conrad in Usrecent fashion poll), Conrad responded, “I will keep my comments to myself. I think that’s really funny.”

Lauren Conrad Talks Fashion with NYLON

Friday, March 28th, 2008

It’s no secret that I watch too much TV. So when Lauren Conrad - whom you probably know from The Hills - made an appointment with NYLON’s fashion team this week, I pounced.

“Please?” I winked to fashion director J. Errico, and I guess I looked innocent enough, because he added me into the meeting.

So let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way:

Yes, she really is that pretty in person, looking more like a Disney princess than even Amy Adams in Enchanted. And yes, she’s also really nice, sharply smart, and actually kind of funny: ”The first two seasons of my clothes are all named after my friends,” she explained, “But then, you know, I totally ran out of friends!”

And as for those clothes: She’s into her third season of the Lauren Conrad line, which is all made from jersey cotton that’s made in downtown Los Angeles. The line ranges from $40 - $220, available to buy online or at Intermix, and we really liked some of the pieces. They layer well, they deal with all different body types, “and they’re machine washable AND dryable!” exclaimed Lauren.

If only she’d had the same luxury with the Alberta Ferretti gown she totally ruined on last night’s Hills…Anyway, Lauren swore “my clothes look better on my friends than they do on the hanger,” so we put her thesis to the test, dressing up our intern Caitlin (who bears a suspicious resemblance to Lauren’s partner-in-crime, Whitney Port) in three of our favorite Lauren Conrad pieces.Do they belong in a future issue of NYLON? Have a look and let us know what you think…

“Yo Spencer!” Advice Column Launches

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Reality TV’s most reviled star Spencer Pratt has launched his weekly advice column with Radar Magazine. Here’s what the problem and advice The Hills star gave:

YO SPENCER! I just started dating this guy who I really like. The other night, we went out and got hammered. I ended up passing out in his bed. When I woke up, I discovered that I had wet the bed. I was so embarrassed that I left while he was still asleep. If I call him, do I have to apologize or can I pretend it never happened? Or do I have to wait for him to call me? Wow! This is a situation you do not want to find yourself in. I personally would never want to be with a girl who gets so wasted that she’s pissing in bed. It’s time to sign up for AA, my dear, because drunks are not sexy. Regardless, if the guy’s really, really, really cool, he might understand. But I wouldn’t count on it. Best bet is to be honest and tell him that was the drunkest you’ve ever been and that it was a huge mistake and it’ll never happen again. And make sure you buy him new sheets.

Every Tuesday, Spencer will be back with more wit and wisdom at RadarOnline.com.

Lauren Conrad: I Don’t Feel “Betrayed”

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Lauren Conrad is speaking out on claims that she was feeling betrayed by her friends Audrina Patridge and Brody Jenner ? and insists, I love them both.

In a posting Thursday on her MySpace Celebrity blog, Conrad, 22, wrote:

Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up. I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another poor me story. The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this. I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day. On a more positive note, I got to see some of the first episode yesterday and it looks amazing. Im sooooooo excited for everyone to see Paris. Best wishes and I hope everyone tunes in Monday. With The Hills premiering Monday night on MTV, Conrad also reveals a bit more about her family, her image and secrets behind making the show in, of all places, The Wall Street Journal. In the profile, Conrad acknowledges that she and Jenner have an odd relationship, but it works, because hes a cute guy whos okay with filming.

As for LCs image, Conrads publicist talks openly with the newspaper about building Conrad as a fashion brand ? and about the need for Lauren to party responsibly when shes hitting the hot clubs. Its the same conversation youd have as a parent with a child, said the rep. Conrads father Jim adds that they watch the blogs ? and if they see her appearing tipsy in a photo, We will tell her to ratchet it back.
